The Tambopata 3d/2n tour offers an immersive adventure in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. The first day includes an exciting combination of activities such as canopy walking, ziplining, kayaking, and visiting Monkey Island, providing a unique chance to experience the region’s wildlife. On the second day, you’ll explore the Tambopata Reserve, including a visit to the beautiful Sandoval Lake, home to giant otters and a variety of birds. The final day features a cultural visit to a local native family, where you’ll learn about their traditions. Throughout the trip, you’ll be guided by experts and have plenty of opportunities to witness the rich biodiversity of the area.
Hotel or Airport in the city of Puerto Maldonado
8:00 am
At 8:00 in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel or airport in the city of Puerto Maldonado, to travel along the Madre de Dios River until we reach the Lodge. After arriving and leaving our luggage, we will begin a walk through the forest to reach the place where you will do the canopy activity.
Walk through the forest until you reach the canopy tower, which is 35m high and is built at the foot of an immense lupuna, a representative tree of the Amazon rainforest due to its enormous size. Throughout the day we will have the opportunity to see a great variety of birds, our local guide will provide you with information about the flora and fauna of the area.
After enjoying the Canopy, we will begin with the zip-line activity with our professional guides, who will put on the necessary equipment for your safety and start with this adventure activity, finally we return to the Lodge to enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon we will begin another adventure, kayaking. Our professional team will provide you with all the necessary equipment for this activity. Once the activity has started, a safety boat will follow you along the entire route on the Madre de Dios River.
After finishing kayaking, we will arrive at Monkey Island. Here we will see a great variety of monkeys in their habitat. Many of these species are friendly. Accompanied by experts, you will be able to interact with these beautiful animals.
Finally, after sunset, we will return to our lodge. On the way, we will be able to see some alligators, majestic animals that are resting on the banks of the river.
At approximately 7:00 p.m., we will return to the lodge to have dinner and have a well-deserved rest.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast we will leave for the Tambopata reserve to visit Sandoval Lake, where we will begin a walk of approximately 90 minutes, in which we will be able to appreciate a great variety of flora and fauna that exists in this area. We will continue to enjoy a delicious lunch while enjoying the wonderful view of the natural beauty. In the afternoon after lunch we will visit the beautiful Sandoval Lake, where apart from observing a variety of birds, it is home to giant otters, which can be seen prowling around the shores. To end this day full of nature, we will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner.
Early in the morning after enjoying a delicious breakfast we will go to visit a local native family, they will show us the cultural value of their ancestors, as well as their clothing and even their dances.
The local people are known for their crafts and if you wish you can buy some of them, after lunch we will transfer you back to Puerto Maldonado for your flight or bus back.
Tambopata is characterized by having a humid and warm climate typical of the Peruvian Amazon. You will find temperatures that range between 20°C (68°F) and 40°C (104°F), dropping to 17°C (62°F) in the windy season which is in June and July, the rainy season takes place between December and March.
It will be important that you bring with you light, comfortable and quick-drying clothing and shoes. Mosquito repellent, cap, sunglasses and flashlight.

Mi aventura en el corazón del Amazonas fue inolvidable. Desde el momento en que partimos de Puerto Maldonado, me sumergí en las maravillas de la naturaleza. El recorrido por el canopy y el ziplining me ofrecieron una perspectiva única de la selva exuberante, mientras que el kayak en el río Madre de Dios fue una experiencia tranquila pero emocionante. Interactuar con los monos en la Isla de Monos fue uno de los puntos más destacados, y la belleza del Lago Sandoval me dejó sin palabras. Visitar a una familia nativa local le dio una capa cultural profunda al viaje, ofreciéndome un vistazo a sus tradiciones. Cada momento fue una verdadera escapatoria al mundo salvaje, y atesoraré estos recuerdos por siempre.
